Imadoki, for a change of pace, is directed to being light and humorous compared to Watase's other works that are more serious and *cough* magical *cough* and *ahem* before you read on. Let me state that this is NOT a knock off of Hana Yori Dango!!
The story first starts out with a girl named Tanpopo Yamazaki who decided to pay a visit to her new school she transfered into through an entrance exam. So she took up her bike with her pet fox named poplar and went flying over the school fence. A guy who was inside the school campus, tending flowers saw her but it was too late though. Tanpopo crash landed right on top of him. There she makes friends with the guy and found him to be nice. She leaves off but didn't catch his name.
The next day when school starts, Tanpopo is amazed at how hi-tech her new school is. She sees the guy from yesterday whom she made friends with and calls him but he didn't even acknowledge her and was totally the opposite of the nice and gentle guy she met the day before! And even says that he doesn't know her! Tanpopo starts her school day, but it isn't as good as it gets because in Meio academy, students there are all from high ranking families in society and those who entered through an entrance exam are looked down upon. And so the game begins in Tanpopo's struggle to make friends..
